Today, I made a search for Hamptons NY home builders and I noticed that there were no feature articles about any of the builders until about halfway down the third Google page. The top three positions on the first page were all occupied by the “Angie’s List” webpage. This so-called builder’s list also contains gravel companies and home inspection companies. There was one Youtube video noted on the second Google search page, but it was by a national company called “elocalprofiles”, which did not seem to match the Hamptons market well at all. No interesting articles came up. Nothing even about Joe Ferrell and the “trophy basements” trend in the Hamptons. You may not be a builder and think “Who cares about this building stuff?” If you do own a business, however, the information I’m sharing applies to you as well.
As I was preparing this list of Hampton NY builders, I noticed that only one contractor website on the list had a blog. And the blog posts were published only once a month. Most of the contractor websites were not mobile friendly. That is, it would basically be impossible to get any information online from a mobile smartphone. There is definitely a lot room for companies to stand out with better online marketing approaches. And this business is becoming more competitive, as most are. I recently bumped into a team of workers who were hired all the way from Arizona to come and build a few houses in the Hamptons.
The following list of Hamptons NY house builders is presented in alphabetical order. Handyman and repair-only contractors weren’t put on the list. I’ve only listed home builders with existing websites. Yelp, Manta and Yellow Pages do not count. That knocks off almost half the list. Also, companies have to have a local Hamptons area address.
Many companies today still only rely on word-of-mouth advertising and do not believe Internet strength is important. While word-of-mouth referrals are important, there is an increasing influx of foreign investors who go directly to the Internet for information before making a business decision. 
It was revealing to note that most Hamptons contractors do not have mobile responsive websites. This means that a person on a smartphone will not be able to read any valuable information about those companies.
If you are a local contractor, you may be missing out on bid requests if you are not being located effectively online. Also, if your web presence isn’t strong and effective, clients may not take you very seriously. Even if you do have a website, these days, a static webpage without an active blog is simply not as effective as a responsive mobile website with fresh blog articles and social media. Do a Google search for Hamptons NY home builders and see where your company comes up, if at all.
